Frequently asked questions
How often do I need to service my property?
For Residential General Pest Service (spiders, cockroaches) we recommend every 6-12 months. For Commercial properties we recommended every 3-6 months. For other pests such as rodents or termites, we can advise accordingly pending the system in place. If you are experiencing issues prior with pests such as bird lice, fleas, rodents and german cockroaches we can escalate the matter immediately as this is another service.
What areas do you treat?
A General Pest Control Service is conducted throughout all internal and external areas of your property that have been identified as a pest hotspot. The service includes roof voids, letterboxes, gardens, windows, driveways, pathways, under gutter systems, sheds, fence line and storage areas. However, we limit treatment application to sensitive areas, such as herb and fruit gardens, fish ponds and tanks. If you require a certain room of the property to not be serviced, this is allowed however costs remain the same. We treat the areas the clients request.
What is covered in General Pest Control?
General Pest Control is completed throughout the internal and external off the property covering spiders, ants, cockroaches and silverfish. Throughout the inspection we may find a heavy infestation of German Cockroaches. We will advise you on the spot if this infestation has also been carried out as German Cockroaches are treated differently and, in some cases, may require a follow up treatment to take place from about 2 weeks after the initial treatment (depending the severity). The German Cockroach service is an additional cost.
Do I need to remove anything from my cupboards or move any furniture before the treatment?
For General Pest Control throughout the property no, we don’t need you to move anything however for German Cockroaches in the pantry or behind the fridge we will ask you to move the items so we can have full access to the infested area.
Is pest control safe for my children/baby and do we need to leave the house when pest control is conducted?
In short, yes, your children/babies and yourself are safe with our treatment, however this is dependent upon the type of service that will be carried out. All the chemicals we use are safe and approved by APVMA for use in residential properties, child care centres, hospitals and other public places. As a precaution we do recommend minimising exposure to any pesticide that you may come into contact with for at least 2-4 hours until the spray is completely dried and ventilated. If there is a product to be applied inside your home that you are unsure of then we recommend that you vacate the house whilst that takes place, this is up to the customers discretion. We also ask that you put away children’s toys and other loose items they use.
All pesticides carry with them inherent dangers, our technical team has chosen specific products and our technicians are trained in the application of those products to minimise the risks to people or pets.
Are your products harmful to pets?
It is advisable to remove the animal or animals from the area during treatment. Remove any animal bowls whilst treatment has been conducted and allow up to 2-4 hours before having your pet inside. All pesticides carry with them inherent dangers, our technical team has chosen specific products and our technicians are trained in the application of those products to minimise the risks to people or pets.
Will your products stain my furniture and is the smell odourless?
No. We can assure you the products will not stain your furniture or create a smell in the house
How often do I need a termite inspection?
We strongly recommend inspecting your home for termites every 12 months or 6 months especially for high-risk areas. This can be conducted on the same day as your General Pest Control Service. As most insurance policies do not cover you for any termite damages, our technicians can conduct the inspection and complete a protection plan/treatment that way, the earlier the detection, the less damage that can be caused to your property long term.
How often do I need to recharge my Termguard termite system?
Termite Inspections should take place once every year, as per the requirements of the Australian Standard. Whilst the re-injection of systems occurs every three years depending on systems and chemicals chosen.
My neighbour started renovating and I am seeing pests coming over to our property. When should I conduct a pest service?
You can conduct a pest control service at any time keeping in mind that pest disturbance from the renovation can keep happening to materials being brought in and out. Depending how far along the renovations are you might want to wait or have a pest control service during the renovation and one when renovations are complete.
What happens if it starts raining on the day of the service?
For General Pest Control, if it rains a couple of hours before your service is conducted, not during or after your service then it can still be conducted on the same day. If there is heavy downpour rain, we will reschedule the appointment saving you cost and time as the chemicals will not be as effective on the outside. For Rodent Services, Termite Inspections and Reticulation System charge ups, your service will still be conducted unless severe weather issues persist (flooding or bushfires).
Is there a warranty period with your services?
Yes, all of our services have a warranty period. The warranty time frame will vary depending on the service performed. Please enquire with our team for further questions regarding warranty.
Why am I seeing more pests after my treatment?
For General Pest Control, it is very common to see an increase in pest activity after a treatment. This applies to ants, cockroaches, silverfish, rodents and more. Spiders are generally flushed out immediately post-treatment, however, some may still be suffering from the effects of the treatment. We recommend not to worry, as the increased pest activity will usually subside after two weeks. If pest activity has not subsided, please reach out to our team and we will be happy to follow up with a new service within its warranty period.
