Termite eradication
Termites (white ants) are considered devastating economically to humans because of their ability to reproduce millions, over a long period of time. Termites leave trails where they have consumed timber, eating from the inside out, leaving a thin veneer of timber or paint. If walls sound hollow this is a sign there has been termite damage.
Termites (white ants) construct ‘mud’ tunnels as this provides them with a safe environment to travel or protect their food sources, often located behind your gyprock walls or hidden under the ground.
Treatments for termite eradication
Localised treatments
Active termites on your property can be eradicated with what is known as a ‘localised treatment’. This involves using a liquid chemical which is applied directly to the active area. Termites that come in contact with the chemical are immediately exterminated.
Dusting
Dusting is a method that we use when a heavy infestation has been found. Dusting of termites involves an application of a fine chemical dust onto infested timbers and active termite leads. The dust is toxic to termites (but safe for humans and pets) and is slowly passed throughout the colony, leading to extermination of the entire colony in time.
Foaming
Foaming termites involves carefully applying small amounts of toxic foam to the termite workings. Foaming is carried out to start the elimination process of termites and is ideal for wall voids and spot treatments.
